Touhou Project is a doujin game series developed by ZUN under the circle Team Shanghai Alice. The series began in 1995 and has continued to present day. It is split between 2 "eras", PC-98 and Windows. The first 5 games belong to the PC-98 Era while games after that make up the Windows Era.
While the two are not fully separate, Windows Era is considered to be a reboot of the franchise and very few things from the PC-98 era have come over to the Windows Era.
